50 Cute Monsters Drawing Challenge. Monster#16.

Welcome the new monster-family member,

Softster.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Softsters, as their name suggests, are creatures soft in every meaning of this word. Not only are they notorious for their excuisite fur, but also for being kind-hearted and easy to be touched. Everything moves them: droplets of rainwater on spiderwebs, sunlight playing in tree tops, snails hurrying about their business.
Why Sofsters have such big and numerous teeth – no one knows. They say, however, that it was the natures attempt to “decuten” this endlessly cute little monster. An attempt which absolutely failed.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I’ve actually had a lot of troubles coloring this one. So I ended up with 5-6 versions of The Softster. Here are my favourites:)

Which color do you like most? Are you a Sofster, too? I definitely am one, just not nearly as cute xD

Cut out, glue, play. Feel like a child again.

Honestly, was fun. Challenging, especially gluing the dice (soooo hard), but did I enjoy every bit of it? Totally!

Me and Quiet decided to play all the games we’ve created before releasing them in a book. Good thinking, Quiet. Found quite a few bugs. Had quite a few White Russians. Felt like kids a again.

Inspiring Wednesday #4 – Sydney Hanson, the true meaning of cuteness.

If you think you know what cuteness is – well, you don’t. Not until you have seen the works of Sydney Hanson. To say that they are adorable is to say nothing.  Don’t want to say much. Just see it for yourselves. Continue reading

Inspiring Wednesday #2

Hi again, everyone:) It’s time share with you another inspiring artist.

This week it’s Goro Fujita. Here is his blog, deviant page and YouTube channel.

This is the first painting by him that I ever saw.

What an amazing mood he managed to create! Something so huge and scary (well, isn’t that how robots are usually portrayed in the media?), yet in this work so vulnerable and touching.

I’ve researched a bit more and found that Goro has lots of robot paintings.

Here is my favorite .

Goro’ characters are absolutely adorable, cute, silly and sweet. The ideas are simple yet so achingly familiar. This together with the high technical drawing skills make his artworks unforgettable. Each one is like a tiny little world, so vivid and alive.

He also does robot-unrelated illustrations. Also just as adorable, with awesome compositions and color choices. Honestly, a treat for the eyes!

The best thing is that I’ve found a video tutorial by him! Simply amazing!

Do you you like his artworks? His style? Please  tell me what you think in the comments below or share this post with other awesome people!

Thank you for reading, stay tuned for more amazing artists and art:)

Inspiring Wednesday #1

Wednesdays seem like such a good time to share some talent and inspiration with everyone.

Actually any day is great for that, but from now on it’s gonna be wednesdays. Inspiring Wednesdays with a new artist every week.

This week it is Juliette Oberndorfer – concept artist, background designer and illustrator.

I find her art absolutely mind blowing. Everything about her pictures arrtacts me: the vivid colors, outworldly creatures, elements of the “naive art”, compositions.

I can look at the colors in her artworks forever.

The video below is her college project, it tells the tale of a hunter bewitched by the luminescence of a forest pool. Absolutely astonishing colors.

Here is her blog and her tumbler page. Do give them a look.

Thank you for reading:) If you liked this post, please share it with other awesome people you know.
